Anxiety can make your whole system feel tense, on edge, restless, and constantly alert. That’s why it can feel so hard to simply “calm yourself down.”
When your system perceives danger – whether from current stress or past experiences – it activates the body's fight-or-flight response.
This response is meant to protect you. But when the nervous system becomes stuck in this state, anxiety can become chronic and exhausting.
Over time, your body begins to stay on high alert even when there is no real danger.
Anxiety is not simply a matter of lacking discipline or thinking the wrong thoughts. It often reflects how your nervous system has adapted to stress or past experiences.
Chronic anxiety often occurs when the nervous system struggles to shift out of fight-or-flight and return to a state of safety and connection.
Somatic therapy focuses on working directly with the nervous system rather than only changing thoughts.
My approach is down-to-earth and usually includes three key elements:
Imagine waking up without the constant tension of anxiety. You could pursue your passions, build meaningful relationships, and feel more present in your daily life. Instead of feeling controlled by anxiety, you begin to experience calm, confidence, and a sense of stability within yourself. Somatic therapy helps your nervous system learn that it is safe again.
If anxiety has been taking over your life, you don’t have to face it alone.
Somatic therapy can help you understand what your nervous system has been trying to cope with and support real, lasting change.
I offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where we can explore your experience and begin the healing process.
