Body-based therapy works over video — including EMDR and Brainspotting.

This is the most common worry about online work, and it is a fair one. In practice the methods I use adapt well: bilateral stimulation, eye-position work and somatic tracking all translate, and for many people being in their own space helps the work rather than hindering it.

Who this is for

Distance is the most common reason good therapy never happens.

Colorado has a real access gap. Outside the Front Range, finding a therapist trained in EMDR, Brainspotting or somatic work often means a two-hour drive each way — which almost nobody sustains for long.

Online sessions remove that. I work with clients in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, Durango and the mountain towns, as well as people in Denver who simply cannot lose two hours to a commute midweek.

Same methods, same session length, same therapist.

Is online as good?

It’s not a lesser version of therapy.

Research on remote therapy for trauma and anxiety has consistently found outcomes comparable to in-person work, and that matches what I see in my own practice.

What online sessions are particularly good for:
  • Access – specialised trauma work without relocating or commuting
  • Consistency – weekly sessions that survive weather, travel and shift work
  • Regulation at home – you practise settling in the environment where you actually live

There are limits worth naming: online is a poorer fit if you are in crisis, need a higher level of care, or have nowhere private for 50 minutes. We would talk about that in the consultation rather than after starting.
Because I am licensed in Colorado, sessions are available to anyone physically located in the state — see somatic therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting and IFS for the methods themselves.

What this work looks like

How Online Sessions Work

Practically, it is simple:

A secure video room
Sessions run on a confidential video platform intended for healthcare. You get a link — there is no account to create and no app to learn.
The same methods, adapted
EMDR uses on-screen or self-administered bilateral stimulation; Brainspotting uses guided eye position; somatic work is essentially unchanged.
Your own space
A private room, headphones, and somewhere comfortable to sit. That is the entire setup requirement.
FUTURE IS YOURS

Therapy That Fits Your Actual Life

Imagine a session that doesn’t cost you half a day. No parking, no I-25, no cancelling because there is snow on the pass. For most people the thing that makes therapy work is not the room — it is turning up every week. Online makes that far easier to do.
